Erica Allison is a sought-after public relations strategist and crisis communications expert. She joined the Dogwood Health Trust team in 2019, managing media relations and PR, while also tapping into her deep regional connections in Western North Carolina to enhance community engagement and outreach efforts for the organization. As the founder and CEO of Formation PR + Brand, a PR and branding firm that specializes in working with public and community health organizations, regional planning organizations and community nonprofits – often based in rural areas, Erica has a keen understanding of what it takes to communicate effectively and with intention. She devotes her work to empower these groups to strengthen their own brand message in order to establish value and relevance within their communities. Erica is highly skilled at developing tailored communications strategies that will not only achieve meaningful engagement, but positively impact outcomes. She is routinely called upon by corporate, public, and municipal entities to assist with crisis communications and is a frequent presenter and workshop facilitator on the topics of crisis communication, PR, community outreach, and branding at annual conferences for the National Association for Development Organizations (NADO) and the Development District Association of Appalachia (DDAA). She holds both a BA and an MA in political science, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Appalachian State University, respectively.
