Headshot of Spencer Bock

Spencer Bock

Fellow

Spencer received his Bachelor of Arts in Cognitive Science with a concentration in Neuroscience from the University of Virginia in May of 2021. He is interested in understanding and determining the social and economic factors that contribute to substance abuse, specifically in Western North Carolina where he grew up. Spencer’s role at Dogwood Health Trust is to identify resources and organizations available for substance use prevention while documenting and helping streamline their efforts. He also identifies areas where policy reform is necessary. His ultimate goal is to develop a deep understanding of the priority needs in the region related to substance use, prevention and treatment.

He has experience in both clinical and research roles and is thrilled to be working with Dogwood, using his background in STEM to think critically about the issues of addiction in Western North Carolina. Spencer’s interests include swimming, running, pottery and ceramics and cooking.
