ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — The city of Asheville was awarded $1.6 million by Dogwood Health Trust to support two affordable housing projects.
The money will go to Habitat for Humanity's affordable housing work and ABCCM's Transformation Village.
ABCCM provides about 100 transitional housing beds for homeless women, children and veterans at Transformation Village, as well as education and training certifications.

The group plans to expand its capacity at Transformation Village.
“Our next phase is designed to do that by starting to build out these permanent supportive housing units for moms with children, particularly those where they have homeless children in the schools," said ABCCM Executive Director Rev. Scott Rogers.
The money from Dogwood Health Trust comes in addition to American Rescue Plan funding the city of Asheville awarded to both Habitat for Humanity and ABCCM earlier this year.
