Sometimes unexpected challenges arise for nonprofits. A refrigerator at a food pantry goes on the fritz. A van for a transportation provider blows a gasket. A computer system gives up the ghost.
At other times, great opportunities arise that can help your organization take a giant leap forward. Maybe it’s time for your next strategic plan. Maybe you could amp up your outreach with the help of a marketing plan or a website refresh. Or maybe the services of an IT expert could set your organization humming for the next several years.
That’s what Immediate Opportunities and Needs (ION) Grants are for.
Immediate Opportunities and Needs grants of $500- $25,000 will support one-time, immediate needs or opportunities for 501(c)(3) organizations and government or tribal entities. Organizations may submit one grant application for each round of funding. Once a request is funded, organizations may not apply again during the next cycle.
Immediate Opportunities and Needs grants are not available for ongoing programmatic or general operating expenses.
To get started, complete this quick and easy online application. If you prefer to complete the application on a word document first and then copy and paste your answers over to the application, we’ve made that option available to you here. Please note that we will only accept the online application; the word document is meant to help with developing your narrative.
If you happen to encounter any technical difficulties in accessing or completing the application, please call (828) 771-7983 for assistance.
The deadline for the first round of Immediate Opportunities and Needs grants is 5:00 pm on January 15, 2020. Funds will be distributed in March 2020.
