ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Buncombe County health officials have said they've recorded spikes in COVID-19 cases, with 30% of positive cases being tied to those in the Latin community
That's part of the reason why a group of volunteers worked to distribute masks in Asheville last week.

Hola Community Arts set up at the the Block off Biltmore, handing out masks primarily for the Latin community.
Volunteers say it's important to reach out to those most vulnerable.

"The numbers are high and we want to make sure that everybody and their family get a mask and are protected when they go out, when they are working that they get the mask," Adriana Chavela with Hola said.
Dogwood Health provided the PPE given out.
Organizers say they're planning another handout on Tuesday, May 19 in the same spot.
