More than 500 people attended Dogwood Health Trust’s 2026 Annual Meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 14. Held at the Foundation Performing Arts Center at Isothermal Community College in Forest City, the meeting was part of Dogwood’s larger Annual Grantee Partner Convening. Community members were also invited to participate virtually.
Board Vice Chair Jackie Godlock and President and CEO Dr. Susan Mims shared remarks about the event’s theme, “Building Steady Hope,” Dogwood’s ongoing Hurricane Helene response, 2025 community investments (details are in the recent annual report) and plans for 2027 Open Grant Opportunities.

During her remarks, Dr. Mims emphasized the connection between Dogwood’s long-term strategy and the ongoing recovery from Hurricane Helene:
“Our five-year strategy remains our guide for the years ahead. And, this strategy is our long-term Hurricane Helene recovery strategy. The things our communities needed before the storm, stable housing, educational opportunity, economic security, and access to healthcare, are just as important now. Perhaps even more so.”
