Jordan Kinser

Jordan Kinser is a Program and Strategy Officer who focuses mainly on Dogwood Health Trust’s open grantmaking and special projects, especially the Stronger Organizations portfolio. In this role, he works with others on the Community Investment team to review grants and other funding opportunities, manage active grants, and build relationships with partners across Western North Carolina, with a focus on Dogwood’s Central Region (Madison, Haywood, Buncombe, Transylvania, and Henderson counties). Through this work, he supports efforts and organizations that improve health and life outcomes for all residents of Western North Carolina.

Jordan is originally from across the mountains in Butler, Tennessee, and is proud to call Western North Carolina home. He is passionate about creating strong and healthy communities for all Appalachians. He earned a BA in History and Sociology from Milligan University in 2013 and is currently earning a master’s in Public Health from Boston University.

Jordan has worked in a range of nonprofit and corporate settings. His experience includes managing giving, supporting advocacy efforts to address payday lending, leading workforce training workshops, running data analysis for risk assessment firms, and even managing commercial honeybee hives. He is excited to be part of Dogwood’s Community Investment team and to help improve the health and wellbeing of communities across Western North Carolina.
