Kate Ogden’s early career focused on hospitality management. It was in this arena she honed skills in customer service and adopted the philosophy of servant leadership with the many teams she built and developed. Furthering her desire to be a conduit for lasting support in her team members’ lives, she pursued a degree in HR Management from AB-Tech. Landing with Tupelo Honey Hospitality Corp., she assisted them throughout their high-growth expansion, leading compliance in a multi-state environment. She led efforts to build a well-rounded benefits package to address overall wellbeing, created many programs that supported a holistic and positive team member experience and improved retention and development of top talent – all of which resulted in company recognition as a “best place to work.”  Kate comes to Dogwood with her sights set on adding bold, passionate and skilled members to the Dogwood team while ensuring we grow as an exemplary employer within WNC.
Kate is an active member of WNCHRA and previously part of the Communications Committee and board. She is drawn to volunteer in areas of food insecurity, spending time both with MANNA foodbank and the Downtown Welcome Table. She also volunteers at Outward Bound with a passion for their youth scholarship program.
Kate and her husband hail from Ohio and moved to the Candler area in 2001. They are raising two sons that share the couple’s love of backpacking, camping and kayaking in our beautiful mountains.
