Peter Tyliszczak serves as a Program and Strategy Officer at Dogwood Health Trust, where he supports the organization’s mission to improve the health and wellbeing of communities across Western North Carolina. With more than a decade of experience in nonprofit and international development settings, Peter brings a strategic, systems-oriented approach to strengthening programs, partnerships and organizational effectiveness.
Peter’s career has focused on advancing community-centered initiatives through thoughtful grantmaking, portfolio stewardship, and collaborative leadership. He has overseen large, complex portfolios of federal and private funding, guided teams through periods of growth and change, and built governance and risk frameworks that safeguard resources while centering equity and long-term impact. His work reflects a deep commitment to responsible stewardship, shared learning, and strong relationships across sectors.
Before joining Dogwood, Peter held senior leadership roles with a global nonprofit organization, where he supported humanitarian response, food security, and economic opportunity initiatives in diverse contexts. Earlier in his career, he served as a Peace Corps volunteer in The Gambia.
He lives in Hendersonville with his wife and two children. Outside of work he enjoys spending time outdoors, mountain biking, and cycling through Hendersonville with his kids in tow.
