Trina Stokes

Trina is a dedicated nonprofit leader and a proud native of Western North Carolina, with extensive experience across educational, healthcare, and community service organizations. Most recently, she served as the Executive Director of the Educational Foundation at Blue Ridge Community College where she successfully increased fundraising revenue and strengthened community partnerships to support student success.

Prior to that, Trina served as Foundation Director at AdventHealth Hendersonville where she contributed to advancing healthcare initiatives through strategic relationships and philanthropic efforts.

Her background also includes serving as Executive Director of the Council on Aging for Henderson County, where she and her team were focused on enhancing programs for aging populations and advocating for older adult services. This role allowed her to develop a deep understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable populations and to cultivate strategic partnerships that inspired innovative programming.

Currently, Trina serves as Chair of the Board for Carolina Village, recently named in the “Top 25 Senior Living Communities in North America” by The International Council on Active Aging.

Trina holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Tennessee and a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from the University of North Carolina at Asheville, where she graduated with departmental distinction.

Passionate about making a positive impact, Trina is excited to leverage her expertise at Dogwood to strengthen networks, facilitate collaboration, and ultimately enhance health outcomes for residents of the 18 counties and Qualla Boundary of Western North Carolina.
