Asheville, N.C. – Dogwood Health Trust is pleased to announce that following an extensive national search, seasoned communications strategist and practitioner Rebecca (Becky) Noricks, will be joining the organization as the Vice President of Communications on July 30. In this role, Noricks is responsible for developing and implementing internal and external communication strategies that advance Dogwood’s purpose, vision, values and culture.

“With more than 20 years working in strategic communications and in philanthropy, Becky brings great experience from the Kellogg Foundation to Dogwood. She joins a strong team and will work with us to ensure that we amplify the stories of our partners,” said Dr. Susan Mims, CEO of Dogwood Health Trust. “I am excited to work closely with Becky to clearly share the story of Dogwood’s purpose and commitment to our communities.”

“I am so incredibly grateful to join such a talented, strategic and caring team. Dogwood is a leader for good in Western North Carolina. The organization’s commitment to creating a better region for all with ‘no exceptions’ resonates deeply with me and is the sort of work I’ve been fortunate to be part of throughout my career,” said Noricks. “I am eager to collaborate shoulder-to-shoulder with the staff, leadership team, board and most importantly the leaders, grantees and partners in the community – to lift up this inspiring and hope-filled work.”

Noricks most recently served as a communications officer with the W.K. Kellogg Foundation in Battle Creek, MI, where she led communications strategies in support of the foundation’s mission and deep commitments to racial equity, community engagement and leadership development. Before her work at the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, Becky served as the director of communications for the Council of Michigan Foundations, the largest regional membership association of grantmakers in the U.S. She also held two national public affairs positions for the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Natural Resources Conservation Service.

Noricks holds a Bachelor of Arts in business communications from Calvin University and a Master of Public Administration with a nonprofit management emphasis from Grand Valley State University.
