Asheville, N.C. – Dogwood Health Trust is pleased to announce that its 2024 grantmaking cycle opens today for prospective partners interested in applying. At its annual meeting on Oct. 18, Dogwood’s leaders explained that the Strategic Priority Grant Opportunities cycle focuses on specific areas within its HousingEducationEconomic Opportunity and Health & Wellness strategic priorities. Organizations interested in applying are encouraged to visit the grantmaking page on Dogwood’s website to learn more about the updated and streamlined grantmaking process.

“The path toward generational health and wellbeing for WNC is through the great work of so many organizations we can support,” said Dr. Susan Mims, CEO of Dogwood Health Trust. “To ensure effective and efficient partnership, we’ve streamlined our grant application and reporting requirements and look forward to combining these processes with more face-to-face time with prospective grantees, so that we can all stay focused on what really matters: our work together.”

Initial grant applications within the four strategic priority areas can be submitted from now until January 26, 2024. Organizations invited to submit a full application will receive an invitation to apply by mid-February with a submission deadline of mid-March. Award decisions will be announced by early July.  Additionally, Dogwood will make grants on a rolling basis in 2024 for Community Equity, Sustainable Organizations and the Leverage Fund and Policy & Advocacy. Organizations may begin the application process for those grants at any time by visiting this link.

In conjunction with the opening of the grantmaking process, Dogwood is hosting an instructional webinar on Nov. 17 from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. For those who cannot attend the webinar, a recording of the event will be made available on Dogwood’s website shortly afterward.

In 2023, Dogwood Health Trust made or committed more than $72 million in grants, nearly $800,000 in grant writing and capacity building support, and $5.4 million in impact investments.
