Stephen J. Blount is a native of Asheville, NC, who has spent many years working and serving the community in different capacities. Prior to joining the Dogwood team, Stephen spent his career working to reduce homelessness and provide safe housing to residents of Asheville with the Housing Authority of the City of Asheville. He also worked with at-risk youth in Buncombe County and countless community partners with the Division of Juvenile Justice. In addition to his professional work, Stephen has worked with many organizations that served disadvantaged communities and encouraged growth through self-sufficiency.

He is a product of Asheville City Schools and furthered his education at Mars Hill University, earning a Bachelor of Science (‘17) and a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice (‘21). In addition to his educational background, he is very active in his faith community and spends his free time as a musician at his church in Asheville, NC.
