Makayla grew up in Western North Carolina and currently lives in Transylvania County. She graduated from college in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. Makayla spent the last two and a half years working in talent acquisition in the hospitality industry. Her passion is people and helping to develop strong relationships between employees and their organization to ensure great working relationships for both sides. Makayla will leverage her experience with full-cycle recruiting, refining role descriptions, leading employee orientations, and reviewing market analysis and compensation and benefits studies to add to a positive and inclusive employment experience at Dogwood. She will assist with company-wide initiatives and projects to support all team members. Away from work, she enjoys spending time outside, hanging out with family and friends, and working on projects. She is excited and eager to be a part of the meaningful work Dogwood Health Trust is doing in the community.
