Advancing Life. Fighting AIDS

In 2018, ALFA started the Foothills Area Harm Reduction Mission (the Farm). It began distributing syringes, injection supplies, naloxone and other items and services to reduce drug use harm. In 2020, the Farm provided 400 services to Burke County residents.

Babies Need Bottoms

Babies Need Bottoms (BNB) was established in 2017 as the only diaper bank to serve socially and economically vulnerable families in WNC. By providing families with no-cost access to diapers, baby wipes, and infant care supplies, BNB fills a gap in the social safety net as there are no public assistance programs to help families meet this need.

Blue Ridge Free Dental Clinic (BRFDC) exists to fill the gap in rural oral and dental healthcare by delivering high-quality emergency, restorative, and preventative dental services to those in Jackson, Macon, Swain, Haywood, and Transylvania counties who otherwise could not afford it.
