Moriah uses creative problem solving, community collaboration and technical skills to move the needle on ending intergenerational poverty in Western North Carolina. Prior to joining Dogwood, Moriah worked with Mountain BizWorks, a Western North Carolina-based U.S. Treasury certified community development financial institution. She was responsible for attracting over $35MM from diversified funders to support an inclusive and vibrant local economy for all. Moriah was also responsible for the roll-out of two new grant programs and the organization’s expansion efforts in the Foothills Region.

Moriah holds a BA in Sustainable Product Development from Warren Wilson College and currently resides outside of Tryon, North Carolina. In her free time, you can find her and her husband whitewater kayaking in Appalachia’s scenic rivers and playing with their Old English sheepdogs.
