Dominica Bockes serves as Director of Grantmaking and Community Investment Operations at Dogwood Health Trust, where she provides operational leadership to align programmatic investment systems, data, and processes across the foundation to advance its vision for community impact. She collaborates with program leadership and cross-functional teams to shape and strengthen operational practices that enhance organizational excellence, cultivate trusting relationships, and support equitable investment decisions grounded in data, community wisdom, and shared learning.
Dominica brings more than 20 years of leadership experience focused on advancing organizational effectiveness in philanthropic, nonprofit, and cross-sector settings. Prior to joining Dogwood, she served at LifeNet Health, where she partnered with executive leaders to manage complex organizational initiatives and transitions, including the integration and scaling of key functions in Research and Development, LifeSciences, and Global Operations. Earlier in her career, she held leadership roles in nonprofit organizations dedicated to addressing housing insecurity, poverty alleviation, and community empowerment.
Dominica holds a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Arts in Government and Public Administration, along with expertise informed by training in strategic foresight, continuous improvement, and systems leadership in philanthropy and nonprofit operations.
Outside of work, Dominica serves as a senior leader within her faith community, where she guides operations and community programming to nurture individual growth and community wellbeing. Additionally, she enjoys spending time with her partner Kent, exploring Black Mountain, reading, and gathering with family.
