Zaria “Ari” Lyles is originally from Chicago, IL but moved to Asheville, NC when she was 13 years old. She graduated from Carolina Day School in 2016. Zaria chose the University of North Carolina at Asheville for her undergraduate program. She majored in Management with a focus in Human Resources and minored in Spanish. She recently graduated from UNCA in August 2020. She was a Head Resident and Order of Pisgah delegate during her time at UNCA and worked in Human Resources there all four years. Over the years, Zaria has completed volunteer work with Mission Hospital, Asheville Parks and Recreation, UNCA, and Carolina Day School.
Though Zaria was not originally from Asheville, her maternal side is rooted here. Both her great grandmother and grandmother were born and have lived here for the entirety of their lives. They reside in the Montford area in Northern Asheville. Zaria has lived with them in the family home since 2012. She plans to work in Asheville to establish more connections and pursue a graduate degree in Human Resources.
